This custom medical cart design is a repeat project from one of our existing client. This project was part of a product extension, hence the design activities started by studying the existing set-up. Aesthetic benchmarking was done by qualitative research.
The client wanted a trolley version of the same design for export market. Various configurations were studied to understand the best possible architecture.
Our medical cart design team got approval to move ahead based on the below configurations.
Details were worked out to get the preliminary design into shape. Further, refinements were planned based on the comments from the cross functional team.
First cut visualisation were done and presented to evaluate the merits of the designs.
The designs were compared with the nearest competitors to evaluate its performance. The proposed design appeared more modern, state-of-art and sleek, while having all the characteristics of an advanced medical device.

The suite case version (above). Visualisation of the suite case version and the trolley version.
Further, finer variations were proposed on the main compartments to arrive at the final design.
Visualisation on how it appeals in the trolley as well as within the suitcase.
Various functional details were discussed and opportunities for further improvement were discovered.
Human factors considerations were evaluated to proceed further.
Engineering team got into action to establish compliances of dynamic characteristics.
Product dimension were compared with typical wheel chair dimensions to ensure that it will be easy to be moved around the context of use.
CMF (Colour/ Material/ Finishes) options were provided to complete the design exercise.
